The Wisdom of Cali
The Beginning
Blame Jarred Lyman. Jarred—a friend I met in sixth grade and who has since become one of my brothers—inspired me to start this blog. By using one of my rants from Facebook on his own blog (which, coincidentally, can be found at http://jarredsthoughts.tumblr.com), Jarred introduced me to the world of Tumblr. Whether or not that will turn out to be a good thing remains to be seen.
It’s been a long time since I’ve written anything in a systematic manner. Most of my recent rants have come in the form of sporadic Facebook notes about politics and sports. This has been all well and good, with one glaring problem: the only people who can see my Facebook notes are my Facebook friends. That’s fine, and I’m not complaining, but I’m greedy and I want my words to reach a larger audience.
Because I suppose that I am now writing for a global audience—I only suppose because, realistically, God knows how many readers I’m actually going to get on this thing—I will try to update this site with more regular rants than on Facebook. So please, give The Wisdom of Cali a test-drive. I hope you come back and consider what I have to say. I may not always be the most qualified voice out there, but I hope you will find me entertaining nonetheless. Who knows, you may even come away with something you didn’t have before.
Just remember the Golden Rule: if you are at all offended by anything you read or see here, and I’m sure you will be at some point or another, don’t blame me. Blame Jarred Lyman.
